| Honoring Choices Minnesota |
|
|
Honoring Choices Minnesota is a collaborative, community-wide public health initiative led by the Twin Cities Medical Society. The goal of Honoring Choices Minnesota (HCM) is to promote discussions about end of life choices and to assist health care organizations with the installation of a comprehensive advance care planning program.
Advance care planning is not merely the completion of a health care directive document or living will. Instead, it is about conversations... ideally, conversations with a trained facilitator who can engage patients in discussions with their loved ones about their desires and values related to health care at the end of life.

| TCMS Promotes Healthy Eating in Minnesota |

| TCMS has recently changed its focus to work on implementing obesity prevention resolutions at the local level, allowing TCMS physicians to advocate for community-based obesity prevention actions by local governments. The obesity prevention resolution is designed to help communities implement policies to adress the obesity epidemic.

| TCMS Caucuses and MMA Annual Meeting |
|
The purpose of being a delegate, submitting a resolution, attending the East Metro or West Metro Caucus, and attending the Minnesota Medical Association’s House of Delegates Annual Meeting is to:
- Develop policies through discussion (at the Caucus level and in the Reference Committees at the MMA House of Delegates) and adoption of resolutions put forth by MMA members/component medical societies;
- Elect MMA officers;
- Elect delegates to the AMA House of Delegates;
- Approve the MMA annual budget; and
- Accept reports on prior activities.
