TCMS

The Twin Cities Medical Society (TCMS) was officially launched on January 1, 2010, following the merger of the East Metro Medical Society and the West Metro Medical Society. TCMS serves as the local voice of medicine and represents 6,000 physicians living and/or practicing in the 7-county metro communities surrounding Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN.

TCMS is a member driven and grassroots focused organization. Advocating for physicians, improving the public health and contributing to public policy efforts directed toward the practice of medicine are the key components of the TCMS agenda. All TCMS members are also members of the Minnesota Medical Association thereby broadening their sphere of influence to a state-wide, as well as local audience.

Both of the predecessor organizations boast significant histories and commitment to advocating for the profession of medicine.

The East Metro Medical Society, formerly known as the Ramsey County Medical Society and Ramsey Medical Society, was established in 1870. The West Metro Medical Society established in 1855, was formerly known as St. Anthony Medical Society, Hennepin County Medical Society and Hennepin Medical Society. Through the merger TCMS maintains the history of being the oldest medical organization in continuous existence in the state of Minnesota. Read more on the history...
