Even when individuals have completed a POLST or health care directive, unforeseen circumstances may arise for Emergency Medical Service responders.  On December 10, a group of four highly skilled EMS directors, physicians, and POLST experts provided a detailed reality check on the challenges of EMS responses to diverse POLST and health care directive situations. This energizing session was the final 2013 Ambassador continuing education session for the program's 50 ambassadors. A new quarterly CE schedule will roll out in 2014 to keep the momentum and skills level of all HCM Ambassadors at an ongoing high level.
