In a dialogue focused on “One perspective will not be enough”, 60 university and college students met with Honoring Choices on October 2 in a statewide forum at Northwestern Health Sciences University.  Students from St. Catherine University, University of St. Thomas, University of Minnesota, College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, Northwestern Health Sciences University, Century College, and other centers of education explored multicultural perspectives of advance care planning with Honoring Choices staff Barbara Greene and Fadumo Ali, a Somali community health worker with Wellshare International.
Participants explored how changing demographics in Minnesota impact quality of health care and sensitivity in person-centered care.  Students also wrestled with how they can support inclusion and excellence in academia and the changing workforce.  Large and small group discussion on new community models for education and collaboration stimulated active discussion.  This student-centered forum was a unique opportunity for Honoring Choices to reach students, faculty and staff about the importance of ACP for all 18+ year-olds in Minnesota.  For more detail, click here.
