The Physician Advocacy Network (PAN) is committed to educating physicians about e-cigarettes and other tobacco products, engaging physicians in local-level tobacco policy decisions, and empowering physicians to become leaders in reducing tobacco use in Minnesota. The goal of PAN is to develop a network of physicians trained to advocate for patients in the exam room and in front of elected officials at the city, county, and state level to affect change beyond the constraints of healthcare systems.

  • The Physician Advocacy Network educates physicians about e-cigarettes and other tobacco products including hookah, cigars, cigarillos, smokeless tobacco, snus and menthol cigarettes. The PAN provides free, evidence based in-person training workshops, presentations, articles, online webinars and tobacco tool kits to help physicians stay up to date on the latest tobacco trends and research.

  • The Physician Advocacy Network engages physicians in discussion around tobacco policy and cessation through the PAN Advisory Committee and brings the unique perspective of physicians to discussions happening at local coalitions and community groups.

  • The Physician Advocacy Network empowers physicians to become leaders in reducing tobacco use in Minnesota by supporting physician efforts to create change within their practice setting and connecting physicians with opportunities to support stricter tobacco policy in their communities.
