Physicians Serving Physicians

Physicians Serving Physicians (PSP) is a confidential, peer-to-peer, self-help program for physicians, residents and medical students in recovery from alcohol and/or chemical addiction. PSP provides peer support, consultation and referral.

Who do we help?

Any physician who believes they may be addicted or any physician who worries that a colleague or family member may be struggling with addiction.

How do we help?

Help begins with an initial, discrete phone consultation to discuss issues, options and choices. PSP offers consultation, counseling, , intervention, and a full range of referral sources including a peer group support for physicians in recovery.

How much does it cost?

There are no fees for participants. We are generously supported by the Minnesota Medical Association, the MMIC Group, hospitals, medical societies and contributions from our colleagues.
